The Vatican City State, also known as the Holy See, is the smallest nation and micro-state in the world. Being the residence of the Pontiff and is also the spiritual and administrative authority of the worldwide Catholic Church and the Vatican City. Administrated by the Roman Curia, which is the ensemble of ministries which assists the Pontiff, the See includes various locations, like the Saint Peter's Square, Saint Peter's Basilica, the Apostolic Palace and others. Established in 1929 as a result of the Lateran Treaty and also being the successor of the Papal States, the Holy See also hosts various celebrations or masses particularly for special occasions like the Easter Vigil or Christmas.
