Tanjung Pala is a cape port island settlement in the northernmost point of the Natuna Besar island. It is geographically located in the politically-contested region of the South China Sea. Formerly a remote island most further to Jakarta, it is now Indonesia's most important place of contention as its sovereignty is under scrutiny.
