Beyond the suffocating fog of the Yellow Sea lie islands marked on maps as barren rock. No one knows what churns beneath the reinforced concrete of those isolated atolls. Local fishermen speak in hushed whispers of lead-lined supply ships vanishing into deep-dredged subterranean ports, and of midnight skies momentarily bleached white by a terrible, silent flash.
