Description (written by the developer; not a statement by this register)
Cliffmere Estate is the Davenport family's distinguished summer estate in Newport, Rhode Island. Built in the 1860s in the Georgian Revival style, it was gifted by William Davenport to his wife, Cordelia Davenport, as a symbol of their family's prosperity and legacy. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the estate became known for hosting elegant garden parties, society teas, and gatherings for Newport's elite.
