The ancestral castle of the Velaryons on the island was also named Driftmark. It was damp and cramped, however, which led Lord Corlys Velaryon to construct a new castle to house the Driftwood Throne, High Tide. When King Viserys I Targaryen brought his court to Driftmark for the funeral of of Ser Laenor Velaryon in 120 AC, the number of dragons gathered on the island led Septon Eustace to call it the New Valyria JOIN TODAY! http://www.roblox.com/My/Groups.aspx?gid=2762131
