Beja Airport (Aeroporto de Beja) is the busiest airport in Beja. It has been under the ownership of Portuguese Government since April 2011, operating at an arm's length as a commercial business. Beja Airport is located 9 kilometres northwest of Beja and attracts over 5,000 people a year. The main airline is now ChesterAir, flying Boeing 757s and ATR42s.
