Crimean Offensive 8 April – 12 May (1944) It was known in German sources as the Battle of the Crimea, which was an offensive by the Red Army directed at the German-held Crimea. Red Army's 4th Ukrainian Front engaged the German Army Group A, which consisted of German and Romanian formations. The battles ended with the evacuation of Crimea by the Germans.
