Description (written by the developer; not a statement by this register)

First Battle of the Aisne, September 1914 (Using ACS System) (NOTE: Your account must be 60 days of age to join. To change teams, type Join TE to join the Entente & Join CP to join the Central Powers) The First Battle of the Aisne represented the beginnings of trench warfare on the Western Front and the end of maneuver warfare for the foreseeable future. Fresh off the victory on the Marne, the pursuing BEF and French Army met with the retreating German Army, now entrenched on the heights north of the Aisne river. In 2 weeks of battle, the British, French and German armies were at a stalemate and began entrenching in rudimentary trenches. The battle eventually fizzled out, when both sides attempted to outflank each other, leading to the Race to the Sea.
