The Ruins of Amon Sul are guarded by The Dunedain at all times when the numbers can be spared, it is one of their few permanent areas of camp. Amon Sul was originally a part of Arnor, on the border of Arthedain, going into Rhudaur and Cardolan, being the point at which they all meet. It held one of the seven Palantiri brought to Middle Earth from Numenor, being the most used of all seven. This was kept protected by The Dunedain as apart of their heritage.
