2006 British Forces in Iraq are under pressure of the insurgents to secure the district after a takeover by a large insurgent force. With the majority of US forces withdrawn to Al Asad airbase in the central sector. British Forces are there to create a stable presence to prevent insurgents from gaining more ground.
