City of the Dead, se passa em uma cidade ficticia na frança, isolada do mundo em uma pequena ilha no oceano no ano de 2021. Houve um vazamento quimico na cidade onde pessoas começaram a ter sintomas de raiva, extrema agressividade e canibalismo, após isso equipes de elite da GIGN foram ativadas para parar as pessoas infectadas porem não adiantou e então o Exército Frances rapidamente isolou a cidade construindo muros e um acampamento proximo para tentar conter. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Para se juntar ao Exército ou a GIGN basta falar com o Comandante ou com o Criador do game
