Karelian Isthmus is the southeastern region of Finland with several rivers and forests as its main terrain, in the winter, the temperature reaches up to –43 ° C (–45.4 ° F), the Finns had a very good knowledge of the terrain and implemented tactics of guerilla and flanking to defeat the enemy with ease thanks to the equipment of the winter and its abilities to such temperatures.
