The Inked Trench

The Trench is unloving to those who happen to trip. The pit grows and the cave has collapsed. All who were trapped when the star hit the planet have survived, but the Species hungers. It doesn't look alive, not writhing not breathing, but it eats. It eats those who trip from the snowy banks of the Tendrils. You will not die if you fall, no, but you provide food still for the growing Species.
