𝐆𝐈𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐑 Located on the duly named straight of Gibraltar the small naval port of Gibraltar was captured by the British at the end of the Spanish Succession War. Following its capture the naval port provided a substantial strategic base for the Royal Navy.
