Roßbrunn, 1866

During the Prussian 25 day "Campaign of the Main" (Mainfeldzug), Prussian forces marched against Austria's southern allies which included Bavaria, Württemberg, Hesse-Kassel, Baden, Hesse-Darmstadt, and Nassau. The Prussians at first saw success against the Bayerishce Armee at the battles of Dermbach and Kissingen, before the Bavarians struck back at Helmstadt. The very next day (July 26th, 1866), Bavarian and Prussian troops would clash again with roughly equal size on the fields of Roßbrunn.
