Faré, Gambia, February 2019 In the northern region of The Socialist Republic of Gambia, Kachyak forces joined local Gambian forces near the small town of Faré, situated on the outskirts of the Sahara; They prepare to face off against Insurgent Forces for control over the town Despite the collapse of Kachyakstan's communist regime in the 1970s, friendly relations between Kachyakstan and Gambia endured. Gambia's military relies heavily on Kachyak surplus equipment, purchased at affordable prices. The insurgency in the north of Gambia began on June 12th, 2016, following a failed coup attempt to remove the Communist Party from power. Initially, Gambian forces managed to largely control situation, but by late 2018, the insurgent forces had grown significantly in strength. In response to Gambia's request for military assistance, Kachyakstan dispatched several expeditionary units to support the government in suppressing the insurgency and restoring order.
