在遥远的未来，人类所生活的地球环境遭到严重的破坏，全球变暖导致的海平面上升日益加剧，使得人类只剩下最后的一方土地。不仅是环境，社会中贫富的分化与资本的控制也不断加深，使得最后的城市被分成了中心内部的富人区——“巢”，与环绕的高墙之外的贫民窟——经受着无穷无尽的苦役。但某时某刻，希望的光芒也在不知名的角落燃起。 而游戏中玩家所扮演的主角则正是一个以改变现状为目标而踏上征途的角色。他将要走过两个截然不同的世界，度过数个关卡，最终去实现目标。
