Following the release of smooth terrain in 2015, the previously blocky voxel baseplate was sanded down into a Smooth Grass Baseplate. Devs could pull hills out of the land, forming entire landscapes out of a single platter of grass! In January 2017, Roblox had converted all remaining voxel terrain places into smooth terrain.
