Upon rising the Tributes were greeted with a barren landscape of lumber and rocks. A layer of snow coated the arena so that Tribute's boots would leave foot-prints within it when they stepped. Various trees with leaves painted delicately with white sprouted about the Cornucopia, leaving a shadow over the Tributes who remained there. The games themselves, taking only four days, were extremely short. So short in fact that the Capitol didn't have time to use all the brilliantly-crafted disasters. However, the ones that were used were remarkably deadly. Panem remained at the edge of their seats, glued to their screens for the entirety of the games, until the end when Gloss from District One was crowned the victor.
