Description (written by the developer; not a statement by this register)
***This is a work in progress, so changes will be made. Instead of making accusations against the map, provide us with suggestions. Cheers, and enjoy your stay!*** In 1649, the East India Company ordered all of its homeward-bound vessels to wait at St. Helena. It was granted a charter to govern the island by the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth Oliver Cromwell in 1657 and the following year the Company decided to fortify and colonize St Helena with Planters.

Growth
Growth history is still building. We hold one measurement for this entry. A trend needs at least two, taken days apart — so this will fill in on its own rather than being estimated. We do not publish numbers we have not measured.
