EUROSAT

The Eurosat opened in 1989 at Europa-Park in Rust was a dark roller coaster with a futuristic space theme until 2017. The ride was built by Mack Rides and took visitors through the dark past stars and planets. The roller coaster is located inside a 45-meter-high silver dome made of 1,504 triangles, which is considered one of the park’s landmarks. The ride reached speeds of about 60 km/h, lasted around 3 minutes and 20 seconds, and had a high capacity of about 1,600 people per hour, which often meant shorter waiting times. In 2018, the ride reopened as “Eurosat – CanCan Coaster.” It was rebuilt because, after almost 30 years, the old ride needed modernization and improvements to its technology and ride comfort.
