Steel doors rust, hinges creak, Silent sentinels of a world grown weak. Maps and charts, dusty and torn, Trace the pathways of conflicts worn. In the still air, memories linger, Ghostly touches of a phantom finger. Buttons and dials, long dormant and grey, Witness to games of doomsday. Empty beds, sheets long decayed, Bear the weight of hopes that frayed. Dreams of a future, safe and bright, Buried in the silence of endless night. Rats scurry through the desolate space, Nature reclaiming this forsaken place. Moss creeps in, softening the lines, Of mankind's fortress, lost to time. Yet in this tomb of bygone dread, Life persists where all else is dead.
