A court is an institution, usually a government entity, that has the power to adjudicate legal disputes between parties and to administer justice in civil, criminal, and administrative matters in accordance with the rule of law. Courts are usually composed of judges or other judicial officers and are usually established and dissolved by laws enacted by the legislature. Courts may also be established by a constitution or equivalent organizational document.
