Camp General Vicente Lukban (CGVL), established on August 1, 1988, serves as the headquarters of the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, also known as the "Stormtroopers Division." Located along the Pan-Philippine Highway in Barangay Maulong, Catbalogan, Samar, it plays a vital role in military operations in the region. The camp is named after General Vicente Lukban, a key figure in the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War, where he served as the politico-military chief of Samar and Leyte.
