🌿𝙋𝙚 𝙖𝙞𝙘𝙞 𝙣𝙪 𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚! - 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙖 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙪 Initially neutral, Romania was tempted by territorial expansion promised by the Entente and joined the war on August 28, 1916. Coinciding with the Anglo-French Somme offensive and the Russian Brusilov Offensive, the Romanians attacked Austria-Hungary in Transylvania. Despite early success, poor strategic vision and fading support on other fronts led to a German-Austrian counterattack. They retook Transylvania, broke through to Bucharest, and launched an offensive from Bulgaria. With Russian aid and French training, Romania held the Siret River and Carpathian foothills, as fighting turned into trench warfare. In 1917, Romania launched successful offensives at Mărăști and later defended against German and Austro-Hungarian attacks at Mărășești and Oituz, preventing a full occupation of the country. 🎪Join our Community!
