THE FIRST PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐥𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚! Welcome to the sprawling city of Cebu. Centuries of Spanish rule devastated this isolated group of islands. The people now fight back against their oppressors. Disease, unfair taxes, and forced labor sparked outrage. The Spanish military harshly put down past revolts. This time is different. The people are more determined than ever to be free. Foreign powers watch carefully and plan to get involved. They want to protect their own interests in the region. Spanish reinforcements are on their way. These troops will crush the rebellion. The new Republic needs help to achieve its freedom. Freedom from Spain has been the people's dream for generations.
