Standing proudly at the heart of Ember County, the Ashford State House is a majestic symbol of resilience, unity, and progress. Built of locally quarried stone and crowned with a gleaming copper dome that echoes the nearby Ashford River’s shimmer, the State House embodies both the enduring strength and the natural beauty of the region. Commissioned in the early 1800s as Ashford’s population and political identity grew, the State House was designed not only as a seat of government but as a monument to the state’s spirit.
