The islands are the gateway to the majority of the Tsardom's warm-water ports, of which are in short supply. For this reason, the islands are generally kept under heavy guard so as to intercept any enemy attacks on the major port city of Kalikova, and any attacks on the islands directly, especially due to the fact that the enemy currently has within its hands the island of Inostra, which the enemy managed to keep in spite of Tsardom shelling and occupation of the island during the 1910-1911 Noobic-Zombiyan War, due to the intervention of other great powers during negotiations, of which believe that Undead hegemony over the Pomerik Sea would disrupt major trade routes.
