Søgaardlejren

Camp Søgaard Camp Søgaard is situated just north of the town of Søgaard and was originally the site of a castle between the 14th and 16th centuries. In 1838, the white manor house was built and later expanded by other owners. In 1934, the Ministry of War acquired the site, which included the manor house and some other structures. Between 1936-37, the manor house was modernized and expanded with a new wing, the barns and other structures on site converted for use by the Army, and a brand new orange-brick barracks was constructed. The garrison remains in use today with the original buildings still in use alongside new buildings.
