Taiping Island V2

Taiping Island is actually controlled by the Republic of China and belongs to Zhongxing Village, Qijin District, Kaohsiung City, about 1,600 kilometers away from Kaohsiung Port. The Philippines, Vietnam and the People's Republic of China also claim sovereignty over the island, but none of them actually controls it. On July 12, 2016, the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruled in the case between the Philippines and China that the Spratly Islands are rocks, not islands. The Republic of China does not recognize or accept this judgment.
