⭐ ROYAL ARTILLERY BARRACKS - WOOLWICH BARRACKS In 1793 the Royal Horse Artillery was formed, and the barracks became its home. Between 1802-1805 it was doubled in size, also acting as the home of the Corps of Royal Artillery Drivers. By 1806 it housed 3,210 officers and men, and 1,200 horses. In the modern era, it became home to the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery and was for a period of time, used by the 2nd Battalions of the Grenadier, Coldstreamer, and Scots Guards. In 2016, the MOD announced the closure of the barracks in 2028.
