The Returoinporium

Tucked away behind a sliding wooden door on a narrow street in Neo-Kyōto’s Old Quarter, the Returoinporium is a relic from a forgotten era, where ink, honour, and whispers once held more power than any blade. The office interior is a blend of Taishō-era retrofuturism and Edo-period elegance. Faint jazz from an old gramophone echoes against washi-paper walls, while dusty tatami Whacks InvaIid mats creak underfoot. A lacquered desk dominates the room, scarred with decades of use, and flanked by towering tansu cabinets packed with brittle scrolls, sealed dossiers, and coded kanji records. An antique rotary phone, modified to interface with arcane communication glyphs, sits beside an old cast-iron kettle perpetually brewing dark hōjicha.
