A Buckingham Palace Honours Investiture is a formal ceremony during which recipients of national honours are officially invested with their awards by or on behalf of the Sovereign. These honours, which include knighthoods, damehoods, orders such as the MBE, OBE, and CBE, and other decorations for service, achievement, or bravery, are conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions to British society. Held in the grand Ballroom of Buckingham Palace, the ceremony is conducted with precision, dignity, and royal pageantry. Recipients are individually called forward, announced by name and citation, and then decorated by the monarch or a senior royal acting on their behalf—often the Prince of Wales or the Princess Royal.
