REGION OF CANDAAR The Candaar region, in southern Afghanistan, has great strategic importance, but remains marked by political and social instability. It is currently under the responsibility of the Portuguese Armed Forces, which take on the task of ensuring order, promoting pacification and protecting the civilian population. The Russian effort is not limited to the military field, but also includes humanitarian actions and support for local development, essential to consolidate stability and create conditions for lasting progress.
