What is the “Always Has Been” Meme? The “Always Has Been” meme is a popular internet phenomenon that humorously expresses a common truth or “open secret” using a simple yet effective format. Origin of the Meme The meme's origin is based on an image created by a social media user in 2018. This image featured a stock photo of two astronauts with a humorous dialogue added to it. However, the meme's real popularity began in early 2020 when it spread across social media and other platforms. Format and Meaning It usually features two astronauts.
