Kentbury House

Kentbury House was commissioned in the 1760s as a country seat for the Kent family. It was intended to reflect both grace and naval discipline. By the late 19th century, the estate had passed to Prince Edward Albert George, Duke of Kent. He took a deep personal interest in the property, overseeing modernizations of the house. During the Titanic memorial period, Kentbury House served as a place of reflection and gathering for the family. In the Second World War, the estate was partially requisitioned by the Admiralty for naval intelligence work, though Edward kept private quarters in the east wing.
