It is the only airport offering commercial passenger services and cargo services in Wales, and it is owned by the Welsh Government. The airport has a rich history, having been established in the early 1940s as a wartime satellite aerodrome for the Royal Air Force. It has undergone significant development since then, including the construction of a new terminal and the introduction of various routes, making it the busiest airport in Wales. The airport plays a crucial role in the local economy and tourism in the region.
