El Castillo de la Luz, translating in english to The Castle of Light, is one of the Canary Island's oldest fortresses, built in 1478 and has gone through multiple changes in power and control from the Habsburgs to the newly appointed Spanish Borbons. As of now, the fort stands strong, protecting the Canary Islands from privateers aswell as rival nations.
