Description
During the Napoleonic Wars, the lancers' regiments served both in the partitioning armies (for example the Austrian Schwarzenberg lancers, from whom the cavalrymen took their lances at Wagram), the French (Vistula lancers and the cavalry of the Guard), and, above all, in the army of the Duchy of Warsaw, within which there were ten uhlan regiments. . Regiments 2, 3 and 6 were established in the years 1806-1807. The 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 15th and 16th regiments were created as a result of the 1809 campaign. During the 1812 campaign, regiments 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 were formed in Lithuania
