Description
The natural seeds of the army were the two Northern Legions and the remnants of the Polish Legions. By the general order of November 14, 1806, General Jan Henryk Dąbrowski appointed former officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the national service to the Polish army. Young noble and middle-class youth who volunteered to join the army were promoted to officers and non-commissioned officers, not always paying attention to formal education. ######### and dedication to the cause were put above qualifications. On November 16, 1806, General Dąbrowski announced a decree in the Poznań department on the recruitment of a recruit. The Polish rule was: one foot recruit from 10 chutes, one horse recruit from 45 chutes. By order of the French Emperor ######## # ########## subsequent divisions (legions) were created: "Poznańska" - General ### ###### Dąbrowski, "Kaliska" of General Józef Zajączek and "Warszawska" of Fr. Józef Poniatowski. There were 17 infantry regiments in the army
