Information The Canadian Occidental & Oriental Line was a Canadian shipping line that operates on the route from Quebec and Vancouver to many other destinations, such as Latin America & the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Africa, India, Australia, and the Pacific. History The Canadian Occidental & Oriental Line was a Canadian shipping company. Founded in 1847, it planned to capitalise off of less competitive routes for maximum profit, originally the Caribbean & Latin America. Its first liner, the revolutionary Champlain, entered service in 1850 and proved to be largely a success. After decades of evolution and losses in the first and second world wars, Canadian Occidental & Oriental was liquidated in 1975.
