Description
The Nettles family exists in a state of perpetual, sun-bleached isolation on the edge of the bayou, their faces etched with the kind of hard-won fervor that only comes from years of unquestioned devotion. They move with a rhythmic, hive-like synchronization, dressed in heavy, rich linens of the finest quality, that defy the sweltering heat, their eyes perpetually fixed on the horizon as if waiting for a signal that only they can perceive. Within the Apocrypha, they are the enforcers of the silent doctrine, bound together not just by blood, but by a shared, unsettling stillness that turns their porch-side gatherings into congregations of hushed whispers and watchful, unblinking gazes.
