𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 𝕰𝖝𝖕𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓 𝟖𝟓𝐭𝐡 "𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞" 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 The French 'Special Expedition', as it was codenamed by the Kingdom, was a force sent to the newly founded United States in support of their Revolution. After the Battle of Saratoga in which British Major General John Burgoyne surrendered his entire army, the moment France had been waiting for finally arrived. The French-American alliance was affirmed in the creatively named Treaty of Alliance, and thus France and the United States became politically intertwined not only for the war, but for the forseeable future.
