Description
The Ejercito Revolucionario Filipino, or Philippine Revolutionary Army, was the military force of the First Philippine Republic, founded in March 1897. It was the successor to the Katipunan's armed forces and was officially formed at the Tejeros Convention, with its first captain-general being Artemio Ricarte. Later known as the Philippine Republican Army, it was eventually dissolved in favor of guerrilla warfare during the Philippine-American War.
