2. Pułk Piechoty, founded in the capital of Warsaw in 1806, comprised of soldiers from the 1st Legion of Warsaw, by 1807 the regiment was ready to fight, the regiment saw little action, but when something came up, they showed there true colours, the regimental colour was a gift from the inhabitants of Warsaw, later in 1811 the Regiment was preparing for the invasion of Russia in the Grand Army Rev. 5th corp, 3rd Division, known for their heroic deeds at Smolensk and rear-gaurd actions.
