Description
4. Cyklistbataljon, 6. Regiment 4th Cyclist Battalion, 6th Regiment Under the Army Act of 1937, the 4th and 5th Battalions of the 6th Regiment were transformed into cyclist battalions, while the 16th Battalion, also in 6th Regiment, retained its original status. These cyclist battalions would perform and function similarly to regular infantry units, only that their mobility is increased with the use of bicycles, and special considerations be met with the bicycles. The 4th Cyclist Battalion would distinguish itself during the invasion on 9 April, 1940, and their cyclist troops would become synonymous with modern recreations of the Danish Army during the invasion.
