Description
𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟒𝟎𝟒 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 Battalion 404 was formed in 1958. They acted as special forces operatives, created for the purpose of special reconnaissance, behind enemy lines. The battalion was known amongst conscripts in the Army as "Truțulescu's commandos" or "the paratroopers from recon-diversion". Ever since their formation in the 1950s, this unit started infiltrating itself in Romanian military units for the purpose of practicing infiltration for future operations during war, contributing to their reputation as a professional special operations unit.
