𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 1682 - 1721 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Fort Groß Friedrichsburg 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬: State Chartered Merchant Company 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬: France, Dutch West India Company 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬: Ahanta, Great Britain At the height of colonial exploration, the Kingdom of Prussia established the Brandenberger African Company with the determination to establish a colonial foothold in the African continent. In 1682, the company landed in the Gold Coast region of present day Ghana. The company established the Prussian Gold Coast, a resource-rich colony with its capital Fort Groß Friedrichsburg. The colony made profit from trade with English, Danish, and Dutch merchants. During the War of the Spanish Sucession, France began infiltrating the colony along with Dutch forces. The Brandenberger African Company’s navy suffered heavy losses after the Siege of Fort Groß Friedrichsburg. The colony, still under Franco-Dutch attacks, defends itself.
