𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝑼𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒊 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨: Formed by royal decree in 1808, but only coming into use as hussars in 1811, the Hussars of the Royal Guard march into Russia alongside their king. After the disaster of the Russian Campaign, the hussars are called upon to defend the emperor himself out of Russia, fighting several brave rearguard actions including at Kovno. The regiment leaves Russia incredibly mauled but having proved itself in battle as one of Murat’s best cavalry units.
