Description

"God and my right!" United Kingdom of Britannia and the Dominions Year: 1919 - 1937 The Entente's victory in the Great War came with an unimaginable cost for Great Britain and her colonies. Although the British Empire had reached its territorial zenith--unrivalled by the likes of France, the United States, or Russia--the state now found itself in financial ruin. Social unrest, economic depression, and the rise of fringe political elements threatened the very existence of the United Kingdom both at home and abroad. The attempts of successive Liberal governments to remedy the swift decline of Britannia as the superpower of the 20th century had failed, and rebellion gripped the core of the empire. The loss of Ireland in 1923, followed by the 1926 general strike crippled the incumbent Conservative government, and met the demands made by labourers with violent crackdowns to restore public order. By 1929, unrest in the home isles had reached a boiling point.
